About
Water for Life International (WFLI) supports the UN declared years of 2005-2015 as the international decade of “Water for Life”. WFLI promotes the Millennium Development Goals to halve the number of people without access to safe drinking water by 2015.
Over a billion people—20% of the world’s population—lack access to clean drinking water in the developing world, and nearly 2.5 billion lack accesses to adequate sanitation services. About 4,500 children die each day from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation facilities – almost one every 20 seconds. Clean potable water reduces diarrheal disease, a main cause of child mortality, and improves health, nutrition and cognitive development.
Water for Life International is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-profit 501(c)(3) international NGO dedicated to meeting the basic needs of people worldwide.
